The text begins and ends with a disconcerting, provocative edge. The plot is deeply interesting, human, intense. To speak of the feelings of adopted children is a taboo. At least I have not read on the subject; nothing like it has ever come before my eyes. Two taboo or at least uncomfortable themes for me are the psychoanalytic dimension in the reunion between an adopted child and their biological mother, and the direct depiction of a young man''''s homosexual relationships as he takes advantage of his time abroad to give expression to his desires. The passages set in Europe are highly creative and suggest that the author knows the geography of the city of Berlin with a certain intimacy, since the main character speaks in the first person.
