On Christmas Eve, Ebenezer Scrooge, a grumpy, selfish, and miserly old man who hates Christmas and is rude to everyone, arrives home to find strange things starting to happen. Among them, the ghost of Marley, his former business partner who died some years ago, appears with a bundle of chains fastened around his waist and a warning: in life, he had been exactly like Scrooge, and his punishment was to wander for all eternity bearing those chains.
