St. Francis de Sales (Castle of Sales, Thorens-Glières, August 21, 1567 — Lyon, December 28, 1622) was a Catholic priest and Bishop of Geneva. He holds the title of Doctor of the Church and is the titular and patron of the Salesian family (founded by St. John Bosco). He wrote extensively on spiritual formation, with his main works being Introduction to the Devout Life and Treatise on the Love of God."
